01The promise
A 10-year workmanship guarantee on our fitting
If the way we fitted your rooflight lets you down inside ten years, we come back and fix the fault at no charge.
Workmanship means the work our team did with its hands: how the frame was set, how it was joined to the roof and how it was finished inside. It is a promise about the quality of the fitting, and it runs for ten years from the day the job is done.
Ten years on the work we did, in writing, with a plain way to claim.
02Covered
What the guarantee covers
It covers the parts of the job that are ours: the fitting, and the finishing that goes with it.
- The flashing, the metal or membrane that joins the frame to the roof covering
- The kerb or upstand we build or fit, the raised edge the glass sits on
- The seals we fitted round the frame and the glazing
- The internal lining we installed to finish the opening
- The fixing of the unit to the roof structure
If a covered part fails because of how we fitted it, we put it right. You do not pay for the visit, the materials or the labour.
03Not covered
What sits outside it
A workmanship guarantee has edges, and it is better you read them now than find them later.
| Not covered | Where it sits instead |
|---|---|
| Faults in the product itself | The maker's own product warranty, which is separate and sits with the maker |
| Accidental damage | Your home insurance |
| Alterations by others | Whoever carried out the alteration |
| Normal wear | Ordinary ageing of seals, finishes and coatings |
| Parts of the building we did not touch | The owner of that part, such as the roof covering elsewhere |
04Making a claim
How to make a claim
Send us a message with pictures. That is the whole first step.
- Email us or send a WhatsApp message. Use the details on the contact page.
- Attach photos of the problem and say where in the house it is, and roughly when you first noticed it.
- We look at what you have sent and arrange a visit.
- We inspect the fault on site and tell you whether it is covered.
- If it is covered, we put it right at no charge.
05Plain terms
What the guarantee is, and what it is not
It is our own promise, backed by us. It is not an insurance policy.
What it is
A written promise from Radiant Skylights that our fitting work will stand up for ten years, with a free fix if it does not.
What it is not
It is not insurance-backed, so it is not a policy held with an insurer. It rests on us.
Questions about the guarantee
Does the guarantee cover my new glass?
The glass and frame as a product carry the maker's own warranty. Our guarantee covers the way we fitted them, such as the flashing, kerb, seals and lining.
Do I need to register it?
No. Keep your written quote and invoice, and send us those details with your photos if you ever need to claim.
What if someone else has worked on the rooflight?
Alterations by others sit outside the guarantee, so tell us if anyone has touched the fitting. We will look at what was ours.
Is there a charge to come and look?
No. If the fault is covered, there is no charge for the visit or the work to put it right. Read about how we work if you want the wider picture, or get a free quote for a new rooflight or skylight.
