About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Radiant Skylights Basildon website and to quotes and work we provide for rooflights and skylights. Radiant Skylights Basildon has no public premises. You can reach us at info@radiantskylightsbasildon.co.uk or on WhatsApp at 07880 284133. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Using this website
The content on this site is general information about rooflights, skylights and their installation. It is not professional advice on your particular building, and the right answer for your roof is confirmed at survey. Please do not copy our text, images or design without our written permission. We take care to keep the site accurate but cannot promise it is free from error or always available, and we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information alone. Our privacy policy and cookie policy explain how we handle your information.
Surveys and quotes
- We offer a free survey. We measure the opening, inspect the roof structure and talk through your options.
- After the survey we give you a written quote setting out the work, the products and the price.
- A quote stays valid for 30 days from its date, unless it says otherwise.
- A contract is formed when you accept the written quote and we confirm the booking.
What can change the price
The quote is based on what we could see at survey. The price may change if you ask for different products, sizes or finishes, or if the work reveals something that could not reasonably have been seen beforehand, such as concealed timber that needs to be strengthened. We will explain any change and agree it with you in writing before carrying on.
Access and preparation
You agree to give us safe access to the property, the roof and a working area, and to clear the room beneath the opening and move fragile items. You should tell us about anything that could affect the work, such as asbestos, restricted access or parking. If we cannot start because access is not available, we may need to rebook and may charge for reasonable costs.
Building Control
Where the work is notifiable under the Building Regulations, we make sure it is notified to Building Control and give you the resulting documents on completion. Planning matters are the owner's responsibility, and our planning guide sets out what to check with the council.
Guarantee
Our installation work carries a 10-year workmanship guarantee. The full terms are on our guarantee page. Manufacturer warranties on the products themselves are separate and come with the paperwork supplied.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your written quote. In general, a deposit may be requested to secure materials and a date, with the balance due on completion. We will never ask for payment you have not first seen in writing.
Your right to cancel
If you agree a contract with us at your home or away from our business, or by email or message, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. To cancel, tell us clearly in writing, by email or WhatsApp. If you ask us to start work within the 14 days, you must pay a reasonable amount for what has been done up to the time you tell us you are cancelling. Made-to-measure products may be excluded from the right to cancel once manufacture has begun, and we will tell you before that point.
Our responsibility
We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill, and the goods we supply will be of satisfactory quality, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. We are responsible for loss or damage that you suffer which is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract. We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather.
Problems and complaints
If anything goes wrong, please follow our complaints procedure. We would like the chance to put it right.
General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also use your local courts. We may update these terms, and the version in force when you accept a quote applies to that job. This page was last updated on 2 October 2026.
